Under the support of Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Taiwan, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) will collaborate with UniversitiTeknologi Malaysia (UTM), UniversitiSains Malaysia (USM) and Univeristi Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) to establish Taiwan-Malaysia Innovation Center for Clean Water and Sustainable Energy (WISE). NTHU and Malaysia Alliance held the kick-off meeting at UTM in January, 2019 and both agreed to reinforce the academic collaboration in the fields of water security, water treatment technology and monitoring, bioenergy application, low carbon green energy and advanced materials for environmental and energy applications. It is expected that WISE will catalyze the exchange and collaboration of expertise on water-energy nexus to meet the standard of UN sustainable development goals (SDG).
